Multi-Year Agreement on Several Transponders at 16° East
Eutelsat (ISIN: FR0010221234) and A1 Group, described as one of the largest telecommunications operators in Central and Eastern Europe, announced on September 11, 2026 the renewal of a multi-year agreement covering several transponders at the 16° East orbital position.
Under the terms of this agreement, A1 Group will continue to operate several transponders at this position to distribute a portfolio of television channels and audiovisual services across Croatia and Central and Eastern European countries.
Continuity of DTH Platform for A1 Croatia
The partnership enables A1 Group to continue providing A1 Croatia with its DTH (direct-to-home satellite broadcasting) platform, as well as technical services: signal transport, uplink and encryption, to numerous television operators in Europe.
According to Eutelsat, the 16° East position serves more than 80 million households equipped for satellite television, cable and IPTV, and broadcasts more than 600 television channels.
Both Parties Welcome the Renewal
Jakub Brzeczkowski, Regional Sales Director for Europe within Eutelsat's Video Business Unit, stated that this renewed partnership demonstrates "the lasting value of 16° East," described as the leading satellite broadcasting platform for the Balkans and Central and Eastern Europe.
Elena Petrova, Head of Group Content and Media Solution at A1 Group, highlighted the "coverage and reliability" of the 16° East audiovisual position, which according to her enables the delivery of content to its customers in Croatia and Central and Eastern Europe.
