Guillin Group Acquires Two Belgian Food Packaging Companies
French food packaging manufacturer Guillin Group announces the acquisition of two Belgian companies specializing in cardboard pastry boxes, through its subsidiary Alterecopack. The transaction was finalized on December 30, 2025.
Details of the Acquisition
According to the press release, Alterecopack, a subsidiary of Guillin Group, has acquired GRUYAERT VERPAKKING Srl and VERPAKKINGEN V de V SA. The former is described as the Belgian leader in the manufacture of customized cardboard pastry boxes. The latter distributes Gruyaert's packaging in the Belgian market along with a range of complementary products. The two companies achieved a combined turnover of 19 million euros in 2024 and employ about forty employees, the company states.
Strategic Implications of the Acquisition
This acquisition is part of the group's strategy to expand its product offerings to meet all customer needs, according to the press release. The acquisition is also intended to strengthen the expertise of the group's WEFOLD paper and cardboard sites and its presence in the segment of printed and customized cardboard packaging, Guillin Group specifies. The company highlights the know-how and manufacturing processes of the two acquired companies.
