Hermès Shares Bounce Over 3%, Luxury Wakes Up in Paris
The stock of the house from Faubourg Saint-Honoré is regaining its strength during the session, in a luxury segment that is picking up within the CAC 40. This movement comes after a long medium-term downturn, with the stock still largely in the red over one year.
Luxury Rebound and Technical Recovery under the MM50
Hermès International shares are up 3.16% at €1,647.00 at midday, while the CAC 40 is up 0.81% during the session. The saddler is among the highest risers in the Paris index, alongside other luxury stocks: LVMH is up 3.54%, Kering by 3.46%, and Christian Dior by 3.21%. This movement comes after several sessions of decline; the stock is finding positive momentum after losing nearly 3% the previous day. Today's rebound brings the price back above its 20-day moving average (€1,613.80), with a gap of +2.06%, but the stock remains below its MM50 at €1,668.54, about 1.3% from this threshold. The RSI at 44 indicates a still neutral configuration, without a clear signal. The movement mitigates the quarterly decline but does not erase it: the performance over three months remains at -20%, and over one year at -31%.
Valuation Remains Tight as China Weighs on the Sector
In terms of valuation, the stock is trading at about 36.9 times the expected earnings for the current fiscal year and 31.9 times those of the next fiscal year, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts. The multiple remains high after the stock's decline, indicating that pressure on earnings expectations accompanies the price drop. The sector's economic conditions remain a point of attention: according to the latest data from the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics, retail sales of jewelry and gold fell by 21.3% in April year-on-year, while total retail trade barely increased (+0.2%). This slowdown in Chinese consumption weighs on the entire luxury sector listed in Paris. During the annual results announcement for 2025, on February 11, 2026, the group confirmed an ambitious medium-term constant currency revenue growth target. The support threshold identified at €1,571.50, briefly breached on May 20 and then defended, remains the low area to watch. The resistance at €1,783.00 marks the upper limit of the current channel.
