IBA Reorganizes Its Leadership: Henri de Romrée Takes Operational Helm
IBA announces a reorganization of its executive responsibilities. Olivier Legrain, who has led the company since 2012, becomes Vice-Chairman of the Board, while Henri de Romrée, Deputy CEO, takes over all operational and strategic activities of the group.
Henri de Romrée Assumes Full Operational Leadership
Henri de Romrée, who joined IBA in November 2023 as Chief Strategy Officer before being promoted to Deputy CEO in March 2024, now takes on the strategic and operational responsibility for all group activities, including the clinical sector (proton therapy and dosimetry). Catherine Vandenborre, who joined in July 2025 as CFO, is appointed Chief Ventures & Corporate Officer and will oversee the development of strategic partnerships, innovation, and the group's cross-functional departments, including finance. Olivier Legrain retains his role as CEO while redirecting his focus towards the strategic direction of the group and maintaining its long-term vision. His appointment as Vice-Chairman of the Board strengthens the link between shareholder representatives and the executive team.
A Gradual Transition Anchored in Continuity
The announcement places this reorganization within the context of an orderly transition marked by IBA entering a phase of strategic acceleration. Olivier Legrain, who has led the group since 2012, has driven the company to increase its revenue from 225 million euros to over 620 million euros while preserving its foundational values and corporate culture. Pierre Mottet, Chairman of the Board, emphasizes that this redefinition of executive roles is the result of thorough reflection and meticulous preparation, confirming that Legrain demonstrates the same long-term vision that has guided his previous directions. The group's strategic priorities remain unchanged: to strengthen global leadership in proton therapy, consolidate the position in dosimetry, expand activities in nuclear medicine and industrial solutions, and explore new technological frontiers in healthcare.
