Aperam stock rebounds 2.5% and ranks among the gainers of the SBF 120
Aperam resists the general trend this Tuesday, while the CAC 40 and SBF 120 lose ground slightly during the session. The stainless steel producer displays one of the best performances of the broader index, in a context of cautious European market and a VIX sharply rising.
A rebound of 2.49% that contrasts with a declining European market
Aperam gains 2.49% to €45.71 during the session, ranking among the strongest gains of the SBF 120 while the index declines by 0.2%. The CAC 40 falls by 0.21% for its part, in an environment marked by a VIX advancing by nearly 8% to 17.08, a sign of increased nervousness in the markets. This rebound follows a difficult week for the stock, which still loses 5% over seven days and 3.6% over one month, illustrating the fragility of the trend since summer.
Over three months, the decline reaches 11.5%, while the one-year performance remains largely positive at nearly 70%. The stock is therefore progressing against a backdrop of recent correction.
A price that remains below its short-term moving averages, above the €43.44 support
Despite today's rebound, Aperam is still trading below its two short-term moving averages: the MM20 at €46.15 (difference of -0.95%) and the MM50 at €46.53 (difference of -1.76%). These two thresholds constitute the next obstacles to overcome to confirm a sustainable recovery. Conversely, the stock remains well above the MM200 at €42.10, representing a gap of more than 8%, which reflects an underlying bullish trend in the medium term. The RSI at 41 is in a neutral to slightly bearish zone, without marked oversold signal.
The €43.44 support remains preserved, offering a margin of approximately 5% below the current price. During the publication of first half 2026 results on July 30, the group had indicated it anticipates adjusted Ebitda in the third quarter of 2026 lower than in the second quarter, due to an unfavorable seasonal effect — an element that continues to weigh on the near-term horizon. The €49.42 resistance represents the next level to monitor beyond the short-term moving averages.
