Imerys shares rebound but still down 7% over the week
After nearly testing its support level at the start of the session, the industrial minerals specialist's stock closes in positive territory, as the SBF 120 also closes in the green. This rebound occurs amid a difficult week for the security, which remains under pressure on its main technical benchmarks.
A rebound that erases the test of the 22.42 € support but falls short
Imerys closes at 22.82 €, up 1.78% compared to the previous day (22.42 €). The session nonetheless started on a worrying note: the security broke through its 22.42 € support during the day, falling to 22.40 € before recovering and finishing well above this level. This rebound occurs in a broadly supportive market, with the SBF 120 closing up 0.65%.
The recovery remains only partial considering recent days: the decline accumulated over the week still reaches 7.09%, with monthly performance standing at -4.84%. The security ranks among the gainers of the SBF 120 in this session, though this movement does not significantly erase the recent erosion.
A security still below its three moving averages, RSI in weakness territory
Despite this rebound, the technical configuration of Imerys remains degraded. The price trades below the MA20 (23.93 €), the MA50 (23.19 €) and the MA200 (23.18 €), with respective gaps of 4.64%, 1.60% and 1.55% below these levels. In other words, the three moving averages form a technical ceiling that the security has failed to break through, despite several attempts in recent weeks. The RSI at 36 reflects persistent selling pressure without reaching outright oversold territory, which leaves the underlying trend oriented downward.
The next resistance level stands at 25.02 €, a level that the security had approached in early September without managing to break through. On the fundamentals side, when Imerys published its H1 2026 results on July 30, it communicated an EBITDA target of 565 million euros for the next fiscal year. In this context, the 22.42 € support remains the key level to maintain to avoid further deterioration.
