Vicat shares rebound by 2% but remain stuck below their moving averages
The Isère-based cement manufacturer closed the Tuesday, September 22 session on a positive note, within an SBF 120 that itself showed slight gains. This rebound comes after a pressured September, which brought the stock close to its technical support level.
A 2% rebound that narrows the gap to moving averages without reclaiming them
Vicat closed at €60.60, up 2.02% from €59.40 the previous day, within an SBF 120 gaining 0.24%. The session continues the rebound initiated on Monday, but the stock remains below its three moving averages: the 20-day MA at €63.09 and the 50-day MA at €63.48 act as ceilings to overcome, with respective gaps of nearly 4% and more than 4.5%. The 200-day MA at €67.05 is even more distant, at nearly 10% above the current price.
The RSI at 37 remains below the neutral zone, reflecting selling pressure that has not entirely subsided despite today's rebound. Over one month, the stock has still declined 5.9%, and 10.22% over three months.
Strong fundamentals faced with uncertain cost environment in the second half
When publishing first-half 2026 results on July 30, 2026, the group had raised its annual guidance, targeting growth of 7% to 9% at constant scope and exchange rates. First-half revenue had advanced 10.8%, driven notably by the full-year contribution of kiln 6 in Senegal and by price increases implemented in the United States from summer onwards. Management had however identified a rise in energy costs expected in the second half, as well as unfavorable exchange effects on several currencies (dollar, Indian rupee).
Based on the consensus of surveyed analysts, the stock trades around 9 times estimated earnings for the current fiscal year, representing contained valuation given the expected earnings per share growth. The technical support at €58.80 remains the reference point to watch in case of renewed selling pressure.
