Imerys stock surges 2.5% and breaks through key resistance at €24.54
The industrial minerals specialist continues its bullish momentum this Friday at the end of August, in a well-oriented Paris market. The stock broke through technical resistance during the session, consolidating a rebound that began several weeks ago.
A resistance breakout that extends the monthly rally
Imerys advances 2.75% to €24.64 during the session, ranking among the strongest gainers of the SBF 120 in an index that itself gains nearly 1%. The day's highlight is the breakout, during the session, of the resistance at €24.54, a threshold above which the stock holds steady. This movement is part of a broader dynamic: gains reaching nearly 6.5% over the week and exceeding 15% over the past month.
The price is now well above the three reference moving averages, with a spread of 3.05% on the 20-day MA at €23.91, 8.98% on the 50-day MA at €22.61, and 6.57% on the 200-day MA at €23.12. The RSI at 57 remains in a neutral zone, with no immediate overbought signal, which leaves room before reaching the next identified resistance at €27.94.
Solid first-half results in the background for the mining group
The fundamental backdrop remains favorable since the publication, at the end of July, of the first-half 2026 results. Adjusted EBITDA had increased 10% at constant exchange rates, driven by higher volumes and market share gains, while free cash flow more than doubled over the period. Group net income, however, came back to €49 million compared to €70 million a year earlier, due to restructuring charges.
On the market front, the VIX at 14.49 reflects a serene environment, conducive to taking risk on industrial stocks. The next support to watch in case of a reversal is at €21.36, or approximately 13% below the current price.
