Inventiva Appoints Three Independent Directors Ahead of Key Lanifibranor Phase
Biotech company Inventiva has appointed three independent directors to its board, effective June 30, 2026. These appointments aim to bolster expertise in clinical development, commercialization, and financial strategy as the company prepares for the critical phase of its flagship project, lanifibranor.
Three Leading Profiles Join the Board
Inventiva announced the appointment of Dr. Barbara Krebs-Pohl, Dr. Anne Prener, and Camilla Soenderby as independent directors, effective June 30, 2026.
Dr. Krebs-Pohl brings over 27 years of experience in biotechnologies and corporate strategy. She recently served as the Chief Business Officer at MorphoSys, where she led the company's acquisition by Novartis for $2.9 billion. She also played a role in the acquisition of Constellation Pharmaceuticals by MorphoSys and the acquisition of HI-Bio by Biogen for $1.8 billion.
Dr. Prener has more than 25 years of experience leading biopharmaceutical companies in clinical phases. She notably headed Freeline Therapeutics in the field of hepatic gene therapies, guiding it from preclinical stage to an organization with two clinical programs and commercial production capabilities. She also chaired Gyroscope Therapeutics and held leadership positions at Baxalta and Novo Nordisk.
Experience in Commercialization and Major Partnerships
Camilla Soenderby brings 25 years of international experience gained in European, North American, and Asian biopharmaceutical groups. She notably served as a Corporate Officer at Takeda, responsible for the global commercialization strategy of portfolios generating $13 billion in annual revenue. Previously, she held various leadership positions at Shire, Roche Pharma, Abbott (now AbbVie), and Schering-Plough (now Merck & Co.). She began her career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company.
Annick Schwebig Departs from the Board
The Board of Directors thanked Annick Schwebig for her long-standing commitment to the governing body. Mark Pruzanski, Chairman of the Board, emphasized that these appointments 'reflect the Board's ongoing commitment to enhancing Inventiva's capabilities to realize the potential of lanifibranor as the next treatment for NASH.'
