Ipsos: Didier Truchot Resigns as Chairman, Laurence Stoclet to Succeed Him
Didier Truchot has announced his resignation as chairman of the board of Ipsos due to health reasons, effective February 28, 2026. The board has unanimously appointed Laurence Stoclet to succeed him starting March 1, 2026.
Announcement of Resignation
According to the press release issued on January 15, 2026, Didier Truchot informed the Ipsos board of directors of his intention to step down as chairman. The founder stated that he has been suffering from digestive tract cancer for nearly four years, and recent developments in his illness now require increased attention and energy. His resignation will take effect on February 28. Didier Truchot expressed his intention to remain involved in the company as a board member and continue as its principal shareholder. The board members have decided to appoint him honorary chairman, according to the group.
Unanimous Appointment of New Chairman
Following the recommendation of the nomination and compensation committee, the board of directors unanimously decided to appoint Laurence Stoclet as the new chairman of the board. She will assume her role on March 1, 2026. Laurence Stoclet has held various executive positions at Ipsos since 1998, initially as chief financial officer, and since 2010 as deputy managing director. She stepped down from her executive roles on September 30, 2022, and has been a member of the Ipsos board of directors since 2002. A graduate of ESCP Business School, she has overseen more than a hundred acquisitions and their integration plans during her tenure at Ipsos. She also launched the Ipsos.digital platform in January 2020 and managed investments in new technologies as well as the group's 1,000 computer engineers, the company indicates.
Strengthening Governance
The board of directors also decided to appoint Anne-Marie Couderc as the lead director to strengthen its governance. Anne-Marie Couderc has been a member of the Ipsos board of directors since June 20, 2025, and chairs the nomination and compensation committee of the company. Didier Truchot expressed his belief that the company will seize opportunities offered by the development of new technologies, particularly those related to artificial intelligence, according to the press release. He also expressed his confidence in the actions of Jean Laurent Poitou, the new managing director of the company, and in his ability to implement changes allowing Ipsos to assert itself as a global leader in its market. Laurence Stoclet is also the managing director of DT & Partners, the reference shareholder of the Ipsos group.
