JCDecaux Wins Advertising Contract for Helsinki Metro
JCDecaux SE, the global leader in outdoor advertising, has announced securing an eight-year contract, with a two-year renewal option, with Helsinki Transport Authority and Länsimetro Oy.
Securing the Contract
JCDecaux SE confirmed winning the contract to operate advertising spaces in the metro stations of Helsinki and Espoo following a tender process. The contract, lasting eight years with an option to renew for two additional years, will commence on July 1, 2026. This extends the existing partnership that began in 2009 between JCDecaux, the Helsinki Transport Authority (HKL), and Länsimetro Oy. The metro network in Finland's capital is a key component of the public transport system, serving over a million travelers weekly.
Advanced Advertising Inventory
According to the press release, JCDecaux plans to install an advanced advertising inventory, incorporating the latest technologies, across the 30 metro stations involved. The new LED screens will be integrated into the existing metro environment, thus offering a novel advertising experience. Jean-François Decaux, Chairman of the Executive Board of JCDecaux, stated that this network will become a showcase for digital media in Finland.
