Kering shares, CAC 40 laggard, sinking below its moving averages
Kering posts a sharp decline this Monday, in a CAC 40 that nevertheless advances by nearly 1%. The luxury group's stock is facing renewed pressure, as two research firms revised their price targets this morning.
Two target revisions on Monday, with targets far from current price
Oddo BHF and BNP Paribas Exane both published updated opinions on Kering this Monday. Oddo BHF raised its target from 255 to 272 €, while maintaining a neutral view on the stock. BNP Paribas Exane moves in the opposite direction and lowered its target from 285 to 280 €, also with a neutral opinion.
These two targets remain significantly above the current price of 226.25 €, which represents a theoretical upside potential of approximately 20% and 24% respectively from current levels. According to the consensus of tracked analysts, the stock is trading at approximately 35 times expected earnings for the current fiscal year, a level that reflects a still demanding valuation despite the magnitude of recent declines. As a reminder, when publishing half-year results on July 29, 2026, Kering reported net income attributable to the group down 60% to 189 million euros, penalized in particular by Gucci revenue down 5% on a comparable basis.
The stock in marked decline territory, below its three moving averages and lagging the index
With a 2.9% intraday decline to 226.25 €, Kering holds the last place in the CAC 40 in an overall supportive market. The stock is sinking further below its three moving averages: it is below the 20-day MA at 244.20 € (gap of -7.35%), the 50-day MA at 256.32 € and the 200-day MA at 263.67 €. This configuration maintains underlying downward pressure, accentuated by a performance of -9.72% over the month.
The RSI at 38 reflects a selling regime without being in outright oversold territory, which signals that the downward momentum remains present without a clear technical exhaustion signal. The support level identified by available indicators stands at 232.25 €, a level that the price has already clearly broken, testifying to the magnitude of the current decline.
