LightOn Shares Soar 31%, Boosted by Lecornu's Sovereign AI Plan
LightOn shares skyrocket at the opening, extending a spectacular rally that began last week on Euronext Growth. The stock of the French generative AI company benefits from a supportive sequence around sovereign AI, as the executive branch has just bolstered its financial support for the sector.
The stock jumps 24% and records a rise of over 70% for the week
LightOn shares gained 31% to €8.45 at the opening, after closing at €6.45 in the last session. The increase reached 129% for the week and 14.8% over three months, while the stock remains down 22% over the year. The price is significantly above its moving averages, with a gap of 84% compared to the MM20 (€4.34) and 27% compared to the MM200 (€6.32), illustrating the magnitude of the ongoing recovery.
The stock had already broken through its resistance at €6.45 during the session on June 19, paving the way for this morning's acceleration. The RSI at 71 enters an overbought zone, a classic signal of a very stretched movement over a short period. The intraday crossing of €6.45 at the end of last week remains the last technical threshold before the resistance at €19, a historical level far from the current price.
Sovereign AI Supported by France 2030 Plan and LightOn's Public Contracts
The session takes place in a political context favorable to French generative AI players. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced an additional €655 million for artificial intelligence as part of the France 2030 plan, as well as the generalization of a sovereign conversational assistant common to administrations. The company also indicates that its technology is used in production by about fifteen French public institutions, including a three-year contract signed in May with Infocom'94, an operator consolidating IT for 26 communities in Val-de-Marne, and a deployment at the Île-de-France Regional Council aimed at reducing the monthly volume of IT tickets by 30%. The rally is part of a dynamic that began at the end of May, after the launch of Console, a sovereign documentary AI platform, and the extension of the OCR model to Arabic to target the Middle East.
The company, introduced on Euronext Growth in November 2024 at €10.35, remains below its IPO price, after a year 2025 marked by signature delays and the withdrawal of the 2026 profitability targets set at the introduction. In April 2026, LightOn extended its cash horizon until the end of 2027 thanks to financing of €3.7 million subscribed by European investors. The next technical threshold remains the resistance at €19, very far from the current course.
