LightOn launches LightOn Suite, its OCR-3 now offered as an API by Scaleway
In a press release published on October 13, 2026, the Paris-based publisher listed on Euronext Growth has combined two products within a single offering. It presents this offer as a response to the dispersion of documentary data, which it describes as one of the main causes of failure in scaling AI projects in enterprises.
At the same time, Scaleway has become the first infrastructure provider to offer its LightOnOCR-3 model in the form of a managed API.
A common documentary database for multiple business applications
LightOn Suite combines two complementary components. LightOn Core reads, structures and indexes company documents (contracts, reports, emails, spreadsheets, digitized archives), regardless of their format, in order to constitute a shared and queryable knowledge base. This base preserves existing access rights, ensures traceability to source documents and updates as information evolves.
LightOn Apps, built on Core, enables teams to create and deploy business applications: internal information search, comparison of contract clauses, analysis of supplier offers, data extraction and cross-referencing in complex files, monitoring of operational reports. Applications are assembled from search functions, tools, restitution models and validation steps, or adapted from a catalog of use cases.
The system incorporates a governance framework: administrators control publication rights as well as authorized tools and models, while organizations monitor adoption, usage and costs by team and by application, with the ability to set budgets and caps. "Companies don't have a model problem, they have a data problem," declared Jean-Philippe Baert, Chief Executive Officer of LightOn, according to whom business teams can transform their documentary assets into applications "in a matter of days".
French hosting and documentary model open to developers
The suite has been available since October 13, 2026 in SaaS mode and in a dedicated private environment ("Managed VPC"), operated by LightOn within Scaleway's French infrastructure and intended for organizations requiring complete isolation of their data. A deployment formula in the client's own environment ("Bring Your Own Cloud") is also offered. LightOn's production environment and its clients' deployments are hosted at Scaleway.
For content generation, clients can choose between open models hosted in Europe by Scaleway and those from providers such as Mistral, Anthropic or OpenAI. LightOn indicates that it is already working with organizations in finance, asset management, digital infrastructure and the public sector.
The ingestion engine of Core, LightOnOCR-3, presented by LightOn on October 8, is now accessible in Scaleway's generative APIs in versions of 0.8 and 4 billion parameters. According to LightOn, it ranks first on average across three open performance benchmarks (olmOCR-Bench, ParseBench, FRBench-pdf2md). Distributed under Apache 2.0 license, it succeeds LightOnOCR-2, downloaded 240,000 times per month on Hugging Face.
Damien Lucas, Chief Executive Officer of Scaleway, a subsidiary of the iliad group, reported a strengthening of collaboration with LightOn to help enterprises leverage their data while maintaining control of their technology choices.
