McDonald's Corporation has announced the election of James D. Farley Jr. to its board of directors, effective February 4, 2026. Farley is currently the CEO and President of Ford Motor Company.
New Addition to McDonald's Board
James D. Farley Jr., currently serving as the CEO and President of Ford Motor Company, has been elected to the board of directors of McDonald's Corporation, effective February 4, 2026. His election increases the number of board members to 12. Farley brings over 30 years of experience in leading complex global organizations and transforming iconic consumer brands. Before his current role at Ford, he held positions as Chief Operating Officer, President of New Business, Technology, and Strategy teams. Throughout his earlier career at Ford, Farley held leadership roles overseeing Ford Europe, Middle East and Africa; global marketing, sales, and service; the ongoing reinvention of the Lincoln brand; and Ford's operations in Canada, Mexico, and South America. Prior to joining Ford, he spent nearly two decades at Toyota and Lexus in brand marketing and product leadership.
Expanded Expertise on McDonald's Board
The McDonald's board now consists of 12 members, each bringing diverse experience and expertise that strengthen the company's long-term strategic direction. According to McDonald's, the board continuously focuses on thoughtful succession planning to ensure it reflects the necessary skills to guide the company's future. Half of McDonald's directors have joined the board since 2022, reinforcing the board's commitment to renewal.
