Nanobiotix Shares Decline by 1.5% and Remain Under Pressure Following May Record
The French biotech company is experiencing another downturn in a Parisian market that is also trending downward. The stock continues its consolidation phase that began after setting a record high in mid-May, as bearish bets are quietly increasing.
Stock Remains Close to its 20-Day Moving Average and Maintains a Significant Gap from the 200-Day Average
Nanobiotix shares fell by 1.67% to €30.56, in an SBF 120 that declined by 0.09%. The stock is in the lower half of the broad index but is not among the biggest losers, with its variation remaining contained compared to movements seen at the top of the leaderboard. The price is exactly at its 20-day moving average of €30.51, which acts as a very short-term technical pivot.
However, it remains below its 50-day moving average at €32.66 (a 6.4% gap), a sign of easing on the monthly horizon after the spring surge. The RSI at 48 indicates a buyer-seller balance, while the MACD, still in negative territory, sees its histogram slightly improving (+0.44). Despite today's decline, the gap above the 200-day moving average (at €23.30) remains considerable, over 31%, illustrating the magnitude of the nearly 667% annual rally.
Increase in Bearish Bets and Scientific Calendar to Shape Future Movements
According to reviewed statements, two funds now hold a combined short position of 1.12% of the capital, up from zero a month earlier. This rapid increase signals that a fraction of institutional investors are positioning against the stock after its exceptional rally, yet without reaching levels that would indicate broad mistrust: the percentage remains modest, but its dynamics deserve attention. On the fundamentals side, the company had bolstered its net cash to €42.1 million through a capital increase of €86.1 million, and presented encouraging Phase 2 data for JNJ-1900 (NBTXR3) in inoperable lung cancer during the first quarter publication.
The risks mentioned on that occasion related to limited progress in the current standard of care and possible questions about the analysis protocol. In the short term, the behavior of the 20-day moving average at €30.51 remains the most immediate technical element to watch.
