PIZZORNO Environment Wins Two Contracts in Provence
PIZZORNO Environment Group has been awarded two new waste management contracts in the Provence region. The first, valued at €73 million over 7 years, covers the entire territory of the Provence Verte Agglomeration starting January 1, 2027. The second contract, awarded by the Luberon Monts de Vaucluse Agglomeration, begins on May 1, 2026.
Comprehensive Service Contract for Provence Verte Agglomeration
The Provence Verte Agglomeration has awarded PIZZORNO Environment a comprehensive service contract incorporating performance objectives. This contract, totaling €73 million over 7 years, will take effect on January 1, 2027, and will cover all 28 municipalities in the territory. The contract includes three areas of expertise: pre-collection, collection of residual household waste, recyclable packaging, paper, cardboard, glass, and bio-waste both door-to-door and through voluntary drop-off points, as well as waste prevention with measurable qualitative and quantitative commitments.
Investment and Technological Advancements in Fleet Management
PIZZORNO Environment will allocate €5.3 million in investments over the duration of the contract, with €2.5 million dedicated to the acquisition of new vehicles. This renewal will affect 39% of the fleet. The entire fleet will operate on HVO, with a portion of service vehicles being electric. The system will also integrate advanced technological solutions: filling level measurement probes in columns, chip readers for collection data analysis, 360-degree cameras on all collection vehicles, driving sensors, onboard cameras equipped with artificial intelligence to identify sorting errors, and a digital management platform with a multi-service user portal.
Renewed Contract with Luberon Monts de Vaucluse Agglomeration
PIZZORNO Environment has been reappointed by the Luberon Monts de Vaucluse Agglomeration to manage waste collection in the municipalities of Lauris, Lourmarin, Puget-sur-Durance, Puyvert, and Vaugines starting May 1, 2026. This contract, with an annual value of €0.4 million, is initially concluded for a period of 12 months, renewable three times. It covers the collection of household waste and bulky items by appointment for about 7,200 residents, as well as cardboard collection from businesses. This arrangement must adapt to the significant seasonality of tonnages, due to the tourist influx from April to the end of September, as well as to the specific characteristics of Provençal villages with narrow streets and isolated hamlets.
