R3 Launches Its First Rapid Charging Station in Normandy at Bernières-sur-Mer
The R3 rapid charging network inaugurates its first station in Normandy, at Bernières-sur-Mer, marking a new phase in its territorial expansion. This opening is part of a strategy of progressive network expansion towards the west of France, with Normandy and Brittany becoming the two priority investment regions for the group.
First Norman Installation and Launch Offer
R3 has opened its first rapid charging station in Normandy in the parking lot of the Intermarché in Bernières-sur-Mer, Calvados, immediately close to the beach. The station is equipped with two MS180 fast charging stations (designed by DBT) delivering up to 180 kW in direct current, with 4 charging points available. The integrated CCS Combo connector is compatible with almost all electric vehicles. To mark this opening, R3 had offered a 50% discount on the charging rate for one month, lowering the price of the kilowatt-hour from 0.55 EUR to 0.275 EUR including tax; the offer was valid from June 6 to July 5, 2025. No subscription or application is required: access is by direct payment at the station, by credit card or contactless.
Progressive Expansion Strategy Towards the West
R3 continues its development through a territorial consolidation approach: densifying the network starting from areas where it is already established in the Hauts-de-France, before gradually moving towards new regions. Normandy and Brittany are now the two new investment axes for the group. In Brittany, the first stations are already operational in Bain-de-Bretagne (Ille-et-Vilaine) and Vannes (Morbihan), with others planned in the coming months. In Normandy, Bernières-sur-Mer begins a progressive coverage of the territory, from Calvados to Seine-Maritime, so that drivers in the region can access the R3 network just as those in areas where the network is already established.
