The French specialist in molecular beam epitaxy equipment has announced the signing of a contract with a European client in the photonic sector. The delivery of the two systems is scheduled for 2026.

According to the press release, the group has recorded an order for two MBE 6000 production systems, along with associated services. The client is described as a European company with vertically integrated production facilities, specializing in the development and manufacturing of photonic devices. According to the company, these products are intended for several growing markets, including optical connectivity for AI-focused data centers, light sources for LiDAR applications, as well as medical, industrial, and scientific markets. The order also includes a set of services and solutions aimed at enhancing industrial efficiency and the integration of manufacturing processes, Riber indicates.

Molecular beam epitaxy allows, according to the group, atomic-scale process control, high material purity, excellent uniformity, and high reproducibility. Riber's MBE 6000 platform is presented as specifically designed to meet the requirements of industrial production of advanced III-V structures. According to the release, it offers high production throughput, great process stability, and advanced automation. Its multi-wafer processing capacity can handle up to four 6-inch wafers per cycle, enabling productivity gains and more competitive industrial manufacturing, while ensuring excellent uniformity and strong reproducibility of deposits necessary for the growth of complex multilayer heterostructures, the company states.
