Rougier Reports a 20.5% Decline in Revenue for 2025
Rougier Group, a leader in certified African timber, reported an estimated revenue of 75.5 million euros for the fiscal year 2025, marking a significant decrease compared to the previous year. This downturn reflects a combination of subdued global demand, low prices, and operational disruptions affecting its activities in Gabon and the Republic of Congo.
Detailed Financial Performance
Rougier SA's consolidated revenue reached 75.5 million euros, down by 20.5% from 95 million euros recorded in 2024. This decline mirrors a drop in global demand, low price levels, and external factors impacting the operations of some subsidiaries. In Gabon, revenue fell by 23.5% due to a temporary suspension of activities within a strict regulatory framework, which has now been fully lifted. This halt equally affected both forestry and industrial production. Since December 2025, operations have returned to their operational level, according to the press release. In the Republic of Congo, revenue decreased by 38.1% due to a cumulative 82 days of successive production stops throughout the year, amid a national diesel shortage affecting all operators in the country. However, the end of the second semester marked a gradual return to normal operational conditions.
Revenue by Product Category
By product category, logs accounted for 27.9 million euros, representing 37.0% of the revenue, down by 24.8% compared to 2024. Sawn wood and derivatives generated 20.3 million euros (26.9% of the total), down by 32.8%. Panels and derivatives reached 27.2 million euros (36.0% of the activity), with a slight decrease of 1.8%. Sales from trading activities conducted by Rougier Afrique International maintained a satisfactory level, driven by an expanded range of panel products and the development of an international trading activity for sawn wood. This latter is supported by sourcing certified logs from the group’s own forest concessions and from certified industrial partners, aimed at customers who are attentive to product traceability and quality.
Strategic Developments and Certifications
In September 2025, the group achieved FSC certification for its Congolese subsidiary, marking a significant milestone. Rougier is now FSC certified across all its forestry and industrial activities in Africa. This certification ensures full compliance with the European Regulation on Deforestation, applicable since late 2025, and enhances its commercial appeal by securing its market outlets and adding value to its production. Rougier plans to continue its sustainable development strategy focused on the responsible and certified exploitation of natural forests in Gabon and the Republic of Congo. The annual results for 2025 will be published on April 30, 2026.
