Saint-Gobain strengthens its positions in Latin America: acquisition in Peru, plant in Brazil
The French group combines an external growth operation in construction chemistry and an industrial investment in plasterboard to support regional demand.
Acquisition of QSI in Peru in construction chemistry
Saint-Gobain announced on August 24, 2026 the strengthening of its positions in Latin America through two distinct initiatives. In Peru, the group finalized the acquisition of QSI Productos para la Construcción, an operation that consolidates its regional construction chemistry platform.
This platform already includes Soquimic, integrated since 2025, as well as the Weber and Z Aditivos brands. According to the group, this transaction strengthens its positions on key end markets in the country, notably infrastructure and the mining sector.
This move is part of the group's development in the construction solutions market in Latin America, where it aims to support regional growth.
Fourth plasterboard production line in Brazil
In Brazil, Saint-Gobain announced the construction of a fourth plasterboard production line at its site in the State of Bahia. This investment follows the inauguration of a third production line at the same site in 2024.
Once completed, it will constitute the largest plasterboard production line in South America, according to the group. This expansion aims to increase production capacity to meet the growing adoption of lightweight construction in the region.
The group presents these two initiatives as part of its Lead & Grow plan.
