Saint-Gobain stock falls nearly 2% and slides toward its 64.76 € support level
The building materials manufacturer ranks among the biggest losers in the CAC 40, in an almost stable Paris market. Two brokerage firms revised their price targets during the day, while the stock remains far from its long-term averages.
Two analysts lower their price target on Saint-Gobain on the same day
Saint-Gobain declines 1.71% to 66.68 €, while the CAC 40 is practically unchanged, placing it among the sharpest declines in the index.
Two analyst opinions were released during the day: JP Morgan lowered its target from 95 € to 93 €, while Goldman Sachs cut it from 85 € to 76 €.
Even after these revisions, JP Morgan's target remains approximately 39% above the current price. These adjustments come following third-quarter revenue, released on October 27: sales grew 2.5% on a comparable basis, driven by prices (+3.2%) while volumes declined 0.7%. The group confirmed its target for EBITDA margin above 15% in 2026.
A stock moving away from its moving averages and losing 26% over one year
On the chart, the price is slightly above its 20-day moving average (66.26 €, a gap of 0.63%), but remains clearly below the 50-day moving average at 70.98 €, a 6.06% gap, and the 200-day moving average at 76.76 €. This configuration reflects a sustained decline: the stock has lost 10.76% over three months and 26.04% over one year.
The support level at 64.76 €, already approached on October 22, is the closest level below the current price. Today's release adds to a context of elevated French rates, with the 10-year OAT at 4.94% on October 27.
