Schneider Electric's Stock Rises 3% Approaching Record High
The electrical equipment specialist continues its rally and is among the top gainers in the CAC 40 by mid-afternoon. The stock is priced at €285.50, extending an upward movement that began at the start of the month. The European index context remains supportive, ahead of the FOMC's decision.
Price at €285.50 and a Gain of Over 8% for the Month
Schneider Electric is up 3.09% at €285.50 during the session, placing it just behind Legrand (+5.98%) among the top gainers in the CAC 40. The stock is priced at €285.50, close to the previous record reached in early June. Over the month, the gain is 8.25%, and over three months, it climbs to 14.73%, in a CAC 40 index that has only risen 0.2% in the session.
The momentum is also marked by a significant deviation from moving averages: the price is 5.33% above the MM20 (€271.05) and 15.15% above the MM200 (€247.93), confirming a bullish breakout after the consolidation phase in early June during the launch of the €800M OCEANE. However, the RSI at 57 remains in the neutral zone, with no overheating signal despite the sequence of bullish sessions.
Rating Boosted by a Calm European Environment and Industrial Visibility
The session proceeds in a calm market environment, with the VIX down 1% at 16.03, hours before the Fed's decision chaired for the first time by Kevin Warsh. The maintenance of the benchmark rate is nearly 97% priced in by futures contracts, with attention shifting towards the dot plot and the end-of-year trajectory. This backdrop benefits European growth stocks, including Schneider Electric, with the Legrand-Schneider duo driving the Paris index.
The building environment remains fragile in the eurozone, with a construction climate at -5.2 in May and French production down 2.8% year-on-year, but the group's diversification towards data centers and industrial automation continues to support the stock narrative. A clear breach of the technical resistance at €287.15 (the price is less than 0.6% away) would pave the way for continued momentum.
