Schneider Electric Shares Drop 2.95% Despite Two Target Upgrades
Schneider Electric's stock significantly declined this Monday, March 2, falling by 2.95% to 268.55 euros after reaching 276.70 euros on Friday. This drop occurred even though two banks raised their price targets on the stock early in the day. However, the group is still up more than 16% over three months.
Two Financial Institutions Update Their Forecasts
Two financial institutions updated their estimates on Schneider Electric this Monday. UBS raised its price target from 285 to 310 euros, while maintaining a 'buy' recommendation, representing an upside potential of about 15% from the current price. Meanwhile, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg increased its target from 255 to 290 euros, maintaining a 'hold' rating. This new target suggests an appreciation margin of around 8%. These upward revisions come as the energy management and industrial automation specialist shows an annual performance of nearly 15%. The release of the first quarter 2026 results, scheduled for April 30, will be the next event likely to influence the estimates of research firms.
Current Session Reflects a Downward Adjustment
Despite the favorable momentum in recent months, today's session brought the share price below the upper Bollinger band, which is at 275.88 euros, after the stock nearly touched this threshold on Friday. The 50-day moving average is at 244.61 euros, nearly 10% below the current price, indicating the extent of the recent upward movement. Concurrently, the RSI stands at 69, close to the overbought zone conventionally set at 70, suggesting that the buying pressure over the last few weeks is starting to wane. The most immediate resistance threshold corresponds to Friday's closing price of 276.70 euros. A sustained crossing of this level would be necessary to extend the upward trend observed over the past three months. On the downside, the 20-day moving average, which is around 258.69 euros, serves as a first technical level to watch. The monthly volatility remains contained at 7.15%, while the negative beta of -0.10 indicates a low correlation with overall market movements.
