Sogeclair: revenue down 2.8% in third quarter, hampered by business aviation
Over the first nine months of 2026, Sogeclair achieved revenue of 113.9 million euros, compared to 117.4 million euros a year earlier. At constant exchange rates, the decline is 1.4%, with currency effects representing -1.9 million euros, compared to -0.5 million euros in 2025.
The decline is concentrated in France (-5.7%), where business aviation declined, while all other geographic zones progressed. This third quarter is also the last to include engineering activities carried out for Airbus, before the scope change announced on October 1, 2026.
Third quarter down 2.8% to 35.8 million euros
The Blagnac-based group reported, on October 28, 2026, after market close, revenue of 35.8 million euros for the third quarter, down 2.8%. At constant exchange rates and scope, the decline reaches 3.5%. Over nine months, the reported decline is 3.0%.
By sector, commercial aviation (37.0% of revenue) is stable, at +0.9%, thanks to its diversification towards new customer accounts. Business aviation (32.1%) fell 9.2%, mainly in Europe, while it progressed in Canada.
Defense (13.2%) is down 8.1%, due to a delay in public orders and an unfavorable base effect, with the sector having progressed 30.8% in 2025. Automotive (7.0%) shows -4.0%, a trajectory unchanged since the beginning of the year, while rail (6.8%) progresses 24.3%.
France in decline, other zones progressing
France, which represents 67.1% of activity, generated 76.4 million euros over nine months, compared to 81.1 million euros a year earlier. The group attributes this decline to the fall in business aviation. The Americas, the second zone with 24.6% of revenue, progressed 2.8% to 28.0 million euros.
Europe excluding France (6.0 million euros) gained 2.6% and Asia-Pacific (3.2 million euros) 5.2%. This imbalance is found in both divisions. Engineering (50.9% of total) declined 4.6% to 57.9 million euros, or -3.5% at constant exchange rates, partly due to an unfavorable base effect.
The group specifies that the decline in business aviation in Europe weighs on this division, partially offset by growth in North America. During the half-yearly publication of September 9, 2026, Sogeclair already cited this decline in Europe, as well as delays in public orders, among its risks.
The Solutions division (49.1%) reaches 55.9 million euros, down 1.4% in published data but up 0.8% at constant exchange rates, after 1.2 million euros of currency effects. Equipment progresses 3.6% at constant rates, driven by Sogeclair Composite and the ramp-up of A350 and A220 programs.
Aircraft Interiors activity progresses despite unfavorable currency effects, while Sogeclair Land Systems remains affected by delays in public orders. Simulation declined 3.3%, automotive simulation remaining in decline, while synthetic environment simulation for defense progressed over the year.
Update of "Ambition 2030" plan presented on October 29, 2026
The third quarter marks the last period of integration of engineering activities carried out for Airbus within commercial aviation. In early October 2026, the group sold these activities to Akkodis. They represented approximately 20% of its revenue and the operation involved the transfer of 366 employees.
In an environment which the group describes as marked by economic and geopolitical uncertainties, Sogeclair indicates observing a favorable trend on several of its strategic markets, notably defense and simulation. The group intends to continue its development around four strategic business areas.
The company will present on October 29, 2026 an update of its strategic plan "Ambition 2030", which will detail its development priorities.
Fourth quarter 2026 revenue will be published on January 27, 2027, after market close. At end September, cumulative revenue stands at 113.9 million euros, down 1.4% at constant exchange rates.
