Soitec Signs Major Multi-Year Agreement with Skyworks for 5G
Soitec has announced the signing of a multi-year agreement with Skyworks Solutions for the supply of POI (Piezoelectric-On-Insulator) plates for the Sky5 5G platform. This agreement extends the business relationship established between the two companies.
Strategic Collaboration on Advanced POI Plates
Soitec and Skyworks Solutions have entered into a multi-year agreement ensuring the production and supply of advanced POI plates. These plates will provide substrates for Skyworks' Sky5 platform, designed to meet the high RF requirements of current 5G smartphones. Soitec's POI technology, produced at the Bernin site in Grenoble, France, offers an ultra-compact and reliable design, compatible with advanced assembly and packaging processes for Front-End modules. This technology ensures the coexistence of signals in dense radio frequency environments up to over 3 GHz.
Extension of Established Relationship Ensures Long-Term Supply
This agreement extends the established relationship between the two companies and guarantees a reliable and long-term supply of POI plates. It meets Skyworks' future needs for innovative semiconductor materials for their 5G solutions aimed at mobile devices.
