SPIE Finalizes Framework Agreement with Tesla for Energy Storage System Deployment
SPIE has signed a European framework agreement with Tesla for the implementation of battery energy storage system projects.
Significant Partnership
SPIE, a leading multi-technical services provider in Europe, announces the signing of a framework agreement with Tesla for the implementation of battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. According to the release, this agreement, initially set for three years, is renewable and covers all SPIE's European subsidiaries skilled in BESS installation. The collaboration between the two companies continues to expand, with projects already completed or underway in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
Impact on Energy Transition
According to SPIE, energy storage is crucial for the energy transition, enabling efficient integration of energy produced by wind farms and solar parks while stabilizing electrical grids. The framework agreement standardizes the legal and operational conditions for European Tesla Megapack projects installed by SPIE. In addition to France, it paves the way for new opportunities in countries like Poland and Germany, where SPIE already has recognized expertise in this type of project.
Proven Track Record
SPIE has already participated in several energy storage projects incorporating Tesla Megapack technology. According to Tobias Zaers, Director of Business Development and Marketing at SPIE, this agreement reflects Tesla's confidence in SPIE's technical capabilities and strengthens its role in the decarbonization of energy infrastructures in Europe. In 2024, SPIE achieved a consolidated turnover of 9.9 billion euros and an EBITA of 712 million euros, demonstrating its commitment to the energy transition.
