Stellantis, Bolt, and Pony.ai Test Autonomous Vehicles in Luxembourg

A Technological Platform at the Heart of the Demonstration

Stellantis will contribute to this project with its L4-Ready platform, a medium-sized utility vehicle designed to support level 4 autonomous technologies (driverless). This modular architecture is part of the global strategy of the manufacturer to deploy driverless solutions on an industrial scale. Pony.ai will bring its seventh-generation autonomous driving technology (Gen-7), while Bolt will integrate these vehicles into its carpooling platform for urban operations. The program aims to validate safety, performance, and regulatory compliance in the Luxembourg road environment. The three partners are actively preparing the launch of what Bolt calls a 'living lab', an urban living laboratory intended to test technologies and operational processes in real conditions.

The Distinct Strengths of Each Partner

Luxembourg offers a regulatory environment conducive to autonomous mobility testing. The collaboration leverages the distinct strengths of each player: Stellantis' vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise, Pony.ai's technological expertise in autonomous driving systems, and Bolt's carpooling platform and market experience. For Stellantis, this pilot demonstrates the breadth of its partner ecosystem in Europe and reinforces its vision of driverless mobility based on its modular architectures. For Bolt, this is the first autonomous mobility project launched by the platform, marking a step in its ambition to deploy autonomous services in several European cities.
