Stellantis stock among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40
The multi-brand automaker is regaining momentum as the share had just touched a five-year low. The rebound occurs in a Paris market slightly oriented upward, following a series of analyst target cuts.
A rebound at the 20-day moving average contact, after a quarter at -22.7%
The Stellantis share gains 3% to €4.00 during the session, among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40, which advances 0.31%. The share is approaching its 20-day moving average (€4.01), remaining slightly below it. Higher up, the 50-day MA at €4.37 remains 8.5% above the price, and the 200-day MA at €5.93 remains 32.5% above.
The support level at €3.83 is not far away: it held while the share approached its five-year low, reached last week at €3.80. The rebound leaves most of the decline intact: -10.9% over one month, -22.7% over three months. Only Renault, at +3.7%, performs slightly better in the index, after declining 2.05% over one month.
Two target cuts in 48 hours: RBC at €4.00, Deutsche Bank at €4.50
RBC Capital lowers its target today from €5.00 to €4.00 and adopts a "sector performance" rating. The previous day, Deutsche Bank had lowered its target from €5.50 to €4.50 while maintaining its "hold" rating. The two new levels frame the current price: RBC's sits almost at the same level, Deutsche Bank's 12.5% higher.
On valuation grounds, the consensus of surveyed analysts projects a P/E ratio of 7.3 for the current fiscal year and 3.7 for the following one.
