Stellantis Stock: One of the Strongest Gainers on the CAC 40, Share Advances 1.5%
The multi-brand automaker (Peugeot, Fiat, Jeep) is recovering ground at midday, while the Paris index is posting a significant decline. This resilience contrasts with the heavy downward trend across all the stock's horizons.
A Rebound of 1.62% That Leaves the Share Far from Its Moving Averages
Stellantis is trading at €3.95 and gaining 1.62% compared to the last close, while the CAC 40 is down 1.07%. The share thus ranks among the strongest gainers of the index, notably behind Dassault Systèmes which is leading the session. The movement remains modest in light of the ground covered: the value has declined 17.46% over one month and 56.19% over one year. The price remains below its 20-day moving average (€4.28, a 7.82% gap), below its 50-day moving average (€4.56) and well below its 200-day moving average (€6.18, a 36.16% gap).
The support level at €3.85 is very close, approximately 2.5% below the current price, and the RSI at 37 remains in neutral territory. On the analyst side, CIC Market Solutions maintained its "hold" rating today with a target of €4.50, representing potential upside of approximately 14% from the current price. A week earlier, the share had already rebounded following the announcement of temporary shutdowns at three French plants.
A Market Context Pressured by Tensions in French Government Debt
The Paris session is marked by nervousness over sovereign debt: the 10-year OAT stands at 4.90% according to the latest reading from the Banque de France on October 2, and the spread with the Bund reaches 1.47 points, the highest level since January 2012. In this market under pressure, Stellantis thus stands out as an exception during the session, with a gain of 1.62% while the SBF 120 loses 0.97%. Over seven days, the share remains down 2.01%.
In terms of valuation, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts, the stock is trading at approximately 6.9 times current fiscal year earnings and 3.8 times next fiscal year earnings. The next key metric to monitor remains the support level at €3.85.
