The State Council Cancels Gas Concession of La Française de l'Énergie in Lorraine
La Française de l'Énergie has acknowledged the cancellation by the State Council of the decree granting the 'Bleue Lorraine' concession for gas exploitation in Moselle. However, the group maintains its financial targets for 2030, as this activity has not yet contributed to its results.
Cancellation of the 'Bleue Lorraine' Concession
The State Council has annulled the decree of November 20, 2023, which granted the 'Bleue Lorraine' concession to La Française de l'Énergie, according to the statement released on December 17. This concession was aimed at exploiting the gas present in the Lorraine subsoil in Moselle. The company states that this decision was made despite the recommendations of the state services. The group expresses its disagreement with this cancellation and declares its intention to preserve all of its interests. The project was intended, according to the company, to produce gas with a significantly lower carbon footprint than the currently imported gas consumed in France.
No Impact on Existing Activities
La Française de l'Énergie specifies that this decision has no consequences on its existing activities. The natural hydrogen research program and the ongoing drilling at the Pontpierre site in Moselle are not affected, according to the group. Similarly, the valorization of mine gas in the Hauts-de-France continues as usual. The company emphasizes that the activity of valorizing the gas present in the Lorraine subsoil has not contributed to its financial results to date. This situation explains why the group can maintain its forecasts without adjustment.
Confirmation of 2030 Goals
La Française de l'Énergie confirms all of its targets for 2030. The group aims for more than 175 million euros in revenue and more than 85 million euros in EBITDA, according to the statement. The company also expects to avoid more than 20 million tonnes of CO2. The next financial meeting of the group is scheduled for January 21, 2026, after the market close, with the publication of the semi-annual revenue. The company remains eligible for PEA and PEA-PME.
