TomTom and AECOM Forge Global Traffic Data Partnership
TomTom and AECOM announced on Thursday a global partnership focusing on the integration of TomTom's traffic and mobility data into AECOM's infrastructure planning and road traffic management services. The agreement encompasses both public and private sector clients.
Comprehensive Integration of Traffic Solutions
TomTom, a specialist in mapping and location technologies, and AECOM, a global leader in infrastructure, have entered into a global partnership. Through this agreement, AECOM will integrate TomTom products—including Traffic Stats, Origin Destination Analysis, Historic Traffic Volumes, Route Monitoring, Live Traffic, and Junction Analytics—into its research activities, projects, operational teams, and managed solutions for clients. The partnership covers transport planning and modeling, as well as the management and operation of traffic systems for both public and private sector clients worldwide.
Access to Real-Time Traffic Data
AECOM will have access to TomTom's real-time traffic data, including historical and current traffic measurements to enhance the accuracy of its mobility and infrastructure analyses. TomTom Live Traffic will provide AECOM with live observed speed data and low-latency road incident detection intended for traffic management centers, road network managers, and emergency services. This data will enable AECOM's teams embedded in traffic management to deliver better operational performance for their clients.
Enhancing Mobility and Traffic Management Services
Dwight Pullen, Senior Vice President Global Aviation and Surface Transport Leader at AECOM, stated: 'By accessing TomTom's world-class traffic data, we aim to enhance our services in mobility planning and infrastructure, traffic management and congestion reduction, accessibility assessments and mobility services, as well as transport policy research and post-project evaluation.' Ralf-Peter Schäfer, Vice President for Traffic & Travel Information at TomTom, added: 'We are proud to be the chosen data provider for AECOM, a leader in infrastructure and transport solutions. This collaboration combines AECOM's global expertise in infrastructure and mobility planning and delivery with TomTom's location intelligence.'
