TomTom Partners with DeepRoute.ai and Will Present an Autonomous Vehicle in Paris
The integration of TomTom's location data into DeepRoute.ai's driving system is already complete, and a demonstration vehicle will operate on Paris roads during the Paris Motor Show. The cooperation aims to adapt autonomous driving systems to the specificities of each market.
TomTom Data Integrated into DeepRoute.ai System
On October 12, 2026, from Amsterdam and Shenzhen, TomTom (TOM2) and DeepRoute.ai signed a memorandum of understanding concerning their joint technical work on autonomous driving. DeepRoute.ai is an artificial intelligence-based autonomous driving technology company. TomTom, a digital mapping and navigation publisher, employs 3,300 people and is headquartered in Amsterdam.
The two companies indicate they have already integrated TomTom's location data into DeepRoute.ai's autonomous driving software stack. According to the statement, this system combines information from sensors with TomTom data to anchor driving within road layouts, local rules, and the broader context necessary to anticipate and navigate unfamiliar roads.
These elements serve as the foundation for the driving decisions and maneuvers required by advanced L2+ and L2++ level functions.
Demonstration at the Paris Motor Show
The result of this integration will be presented at the Paris Motor Show. The demonstration vehicle operates DeepRoute.ai's autonomous driving system using TomTom location data on open roads in Paris.
Media and customers attending the show can book a test drive or arrange a meeting with the TomTom team.
Adapting to Each Market's Regulations at the Heart of the Cooperation
The two companies emphasize deployment across multiple markets: roads, traffic regulations, driving behaviors, and validation requirements vary from country to country. According to the statement, TomTom's data records these local differences and helps automakers and their technology partners adapt their systems to regional conditions.
For Willem Strijbosch, Product Management Director for Orbis at TomTom, these technologies need a "reliable" and adaptable understanding of real environments, and the cooperation between the two groups "accelerates the safe deployment of autonomous driving across different markets".
Xuan Liu, Partner at DeepRoute.ai, describes the agreement as part of the company's international expansion, which he qualifies as a "crucial step". According to him, the combination of the two technologies should help automakers navigate complex and unfamiliar regulatory and physical environments abroad.
