TXU Energy Expands Its Winter Warmth Program in Texas
TXU Energy has announced the expansion of its annual Winter Warmth program with a commitment of $350,000 to support struggling Texas families during the winter season, according to the company's statement.
Enhanced Support for Texas Families
TXU Energy has decided to expand its Winter Warmth program by allocating $350,000 to assist Texas families in meeting their essential needs during the winter. This funding will be distributed among various nonprofit partners and social service agencies across Texas, from the Panhandle region to the Gulf Coast. The funds will provide food supplies, holiday meals, winter blankets, as well as assistance with electric bill payments.
Long-standing Commitment Through Energy Aid
For 40 years, the TXU Energy Aid program has already contributed more than $140 million to help approximately 20,000 families annually with their electricity bills. Contributions come from employees, customers, and the company itself, and are distributed through partner social service agencies. As part of the recent announcement, an additional $200,000 will be injected into the Energy Aid program, specifically for bill assistance during the holiday period.
Ongoing Commitment to Texas Communities
TXU Energy, a subsidiary of Vistra, has expressed its ongoing commitment to Texas communities through the Winter Warmth program. Since its inception, the program has helped numerous residents in partnership with local food banks, social service agencies, and nonprofit organizations. The company aims to ensure that every family receives the necessary support to get through tough times.
