Vicat stock rebounds by more than 2% and returns among SBF 120 gainers
The Isère-based cement manufacturer erases yesterday's decline and gains ground this Friday, in a European market clearly oriented upward. Weekly momentum remains positive, bringing performance over seven days to more than 3% and over one month to more than 9%.
A rebound that places Vicat back in the SBF 120 gainers group
The Vicat stock gains 2.15% to €66.40 during the session, after losing ground on Thursday. This movement places the security among the strongest gainers of the SBF 120, on a day when the broad index itself advances by around 1%. The CAC 40 advances at the same time by 1.06%, in a context of low volatility (VIX at 14.54, declining compared to the previous day), which testifies to a well-oriented session on European exchanges.
Friday's rebound is part of a solid monthly trend. Half-year results published at the end of July, which showed revenue up 10.8% to €2,036 million and EBITDA rising 13.6%, had given a lasting boost to the stock. Over one year, the increase reaches 10.3%, a sign of progressive revaluation of the file. According to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock is trading around 9.9 times expected earnings for the current fiscal year, and 8.9 times those of the following year, with earnings per share growth projected at nearly 12%.
From a technical levels perspective, the session's gains reposition Vicat above its two short and medium-term moving averages. The 20-day MA at €65.46 and the 50-day MA at €64.16 are both below the current price, with respective gaps of 1.44% and 3.49%. The stock thus reclaims ground lost during Thursday's decline, which had briefly taken it back below the 20-day MA.
The resistance to watch remains set at €68.70, slightly more than 3% above the current price. Between the two lies the 200-day MA at €67.54, slightly above the price (gap of -1.69%), which constitutes the next zone to break through to validate more durable momentum. The RSI at 51 remains in neutral territory, with no overbought signal, which leaves room before reaching resistance. Support remains identified at €59.80. Analysts' views on the security constitute an additional benchmark to follow to assess the residual potential of the file.
