Vivendi SE: Moderate Revenue Growth in the Third Quarter
Vivendi SE reported a slight increase in revenue for the first nine months of 2025, with a growth of 5.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Gameloft, a subsidiary of the group, continued its transformation strategy with a significant increase in its revenues on PC and console.
Revenue Performance in Detail
Vivendi SE's revenues for the first nine months of 2025 reached 213 million euros, slightly up from 203 million euros in the same period in 2024. This growth is primarily due to the strong performance of Gameloft, whose revenues increased by 5.2% at constant exchange rates and scope, reaching 210 million euros. Gameloft's revenues from PC and console rose by 16.5% compared to the previous year, accounting for about 45% of Gameloft's total revenues. The five most profitable games for the period were Disney Dreamlight Valley, Asphalt Legends, Disney Magic Kingdoms, March of Empires, and Disney Speedstorm, generating 58% of Gameloft's total revenues.
Cost Reduction and Profitability Efforts
Vivendi SE continues to reduce corporate costs, reflecting a commitment to maintaining profitability despite slightly lower quarterly revenues. For the third quarter of 2025, Vivendi's revenues reached 68 million euros, a decrease of 2.2% compared to the same quarter in 2024. Gameloft generated 67 million euros during this quarter, down 2.3% from the previous year.
Regulatory Challenges and Market Authority Decision
Furthermore, Vivendi SE is affected by a decision from the Financial Markets Authority (AMF) dated July 18, 2025. This decision requires that Bolloré SE, controlled by Vincent Bolloré, launch a public takeover offer for the shares of Vivendi SE within six months. However, this transaction is pending the final decision of the French Court of Cassation, which will be held on November 25, 2025. Both parties have appealed this decision, and Vivendi SE has also filed a petition for annulment.
