Vivendi SE share price falls to €1.46, its lowest level in 5 years
The media and communications group is experiencing consecutive difficult trading sessions, amplifying a decline that has persisted for several months. On Wednesday, the stock breaks through a symbolic threshold that had not been breached for five years, against a backdrop of a European market itself oriented downward.
A five-year low recorded during the session, continuing disappointing half-year results
Vivendi SE touched €1.46 during trading on Wednesday, breaking its previous five-year floor of €1.48 recorded in 2021. The stock declined 1.14% to €1.47 mid-session, bringing its decline to more than 14% over one month and over 33% over three months. This new low follows first half 2026 results, which revealed EBITA reduced to merely 4 million euros, as a result of a collective redundancy agreement at headquarters, and an investment portfolio value declining to €5,117 million on June 30 compared to €5,878 million at the end of 2025.
The CAC 40 also declined 1.82% during the session and the SBF 120 lost 1.76%, against a backdrop of persistent geopolitical tensions and rising long-term rates, but Vivendi's decline clearly exceeds that of the index. With a ranking of 49th out of 120 values in the SBF 120, the stock does not stand out at the bottom of the ranking, with the deterioration reflecting rather a dynamic specific to the security than a global sectoral effect.
Downwardly revised price targets illustrate persistent pressure on the file
The analysts' opinions reflect the deterioration of the file. Deutsche Bank lowered its price target on Wednesday from €2.50 to €1.80, maintaining its opinion at "hold". JP Morgan had already revised its target on Monday from €2.40 to €1.90, while maintaining its "overweight" opinion. These two revised targets stand notably above the current price (respectively +22% and +29% of implicit potential), but the cuts themselves signal an adjustment of fundamental expectations.
In terms of indicators, the RSI at 24 sinks into marked oversold territory, a rarely reached level that reflects the intensity of the decline in recent weeks without mechanically predicting its end. The stock is trading far below its moving averages: 9.2% below the 20-day MA at €1.62, 18.3% below the 50-day MA at €1.80, and nearly 30% below the 200-day MA at €2.10, a configuration that illustrates the extent of the medium-term downward trend. The nearest resistance to monitor is at €2.03, now very distant from the current price.
