Weighed Down by 13% in One Month, Ipsen Stock Recovers Nearly 2%, RSI at 29
The Parisian biopharmaceutical laboratory is recovering in mid-morning trading, while the Paris market remains oriented downward. The rebound occurs after an extended decline that has brought the stock below all of its moving averages.
A Rebound That Erases Only a Small Part of the Quarterly Decline
The stock gains 1.92% to €143.30, while the CAC 40 falls 0.38% and the SBF 120 0.34%. This movement only compensates for a fraction of the 15.5% decline accumulated over three months, to which is added 13% of losses over the last month. The price remains below all three of its moving averages: the MA20 at €149.59 is 4.2% above it, the MA50 at €156.93 is 8.7% above.
The RSI at 29 reflects the magnitude of this decline, while the support level at €140.50, which was crossed again in Monday's session, remains the closest level. In the SBF 120 ranking, Ipsen does not appear among the strongest gains of the session. The stock had already fallen following the American authorization of a generic version of lanreotide, the active ingredient in Somatuline, on September 21.
A Valuation at 9.5 Times Earnings and Targets Raised in July
On the basis of expected earnings per share, according to the consensus of surveyed analysts, the stock is trading at approximately 9.5 times the earnings of the current fiscal year and 10.3 times those of the following fiscal year. Following the publication of H1 2026 results on July 30, 2026, the group raised its financial targets for the year, citing the potential arrival of lanreotide generics among its risks. It also highlighted the positive Phase III results of Dysport in migraine treatment.
Ipsen also repurchased €71 million worth of shares over twelve months, representing 0.6% of its market capitalization, with the latest disclosure dating from September 18. The next support level to watch is at €140.50.
