Airbus shares post one of the strongest gains on the CAC 40
The European aircraft manufacturer rebounded sharply on Wednesday, in a nearly stable CAC 40, after crossing several technical thresholds downward in previous sessions. The stock is regaining ground as CIC Market Solutions confirms its positive opinion with a price target that suggests significant upside potential.
A rebound of 1.7% that places the stock above its 200-day moving average but below its short-term averages
Airbus gained 1.7% during the session, at 193.72 €, in a Paris market evolving at -0.09%. The stock is among the strongest gainers on the CAC 40, which contrasts with the dynamics of recent weeks, marked by several downside threshold crossings. Today's gain places the price above the 200-day moving average, set at 189.66 € (spread of +2.14%), which had served as a floor during recent pressures. However, the stock remains below its 20-day moving average, at 195.62 €, and its 50-day moving average, at 203.05 €, representing respectively -0.97% and -4.59% spreads.
These two moving averages constitute the next obstacles to the recovery. The RSI at 36 reflects a configuration still close to oversold levels, consistent with the accumulated decline over the month (-4.6%). The MACD, whose histogram is slightly back in positive territory (0.037), provides an initial signal of easing selling pressure, without confirming a trend reversal. The resistance threshold at 209.80 € remains far from the current price.
CIC Market Solutions maintains its buy rating with a price target of 240 €, representing 24% upside potential
On Wednesday, CIC Market Solutions reiterated its analyst recommendation to buy the stock, maintaining a price target of 240 €. Based on the current price of 193.72 €, this target represents upside potential of approximately 24%. On recent developments, the group reached a development milestone on September 29 with the maiden flight of the first A350F prototype from Toulouse, opening a test campaign scheduled for over nine months.
Over the week, the stock still declined 0.45%, a sign that today's rebound only partially erases the recent decline. The next observable milestone remains the crossing of the 20-day moving average at 195.62 €, the first technical level to recover to consolidate this rebound.
