AkzoNobel unveils Soulful Sage, a green designated Color of the Year 2027
The Dutch paints and coatings group has presented the results of its annual trend research, centered around a green called Soulful Sage and three palettes intended for numerous markets.
A green at the heart of three chromatic universes
AkzoNobel has designated Soulful Sage, a green described as soft and silvery, as Color of the Year 2027. According to the group, this hue lies at the heart of three chromatic narratives named Glow, Light and Lift.
Heleen van Gent, Creative Director of AkzoNobel's Global Aesthetic Center, indicates that the approach aims to create "lighter spaces for a lighter life", in a context where many people report being affected by current events and information overload.
The group specifies that Glow is based on earthy tones, Light combines pale hues and darker nuances, while Lift highlights more positive tones.
Palettes tailored for aerospace, automotive and twelve other sectors
Beyond decorative paints, AkzoNobel has developed palettes for the aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, metal furniture, lighting, furnishings, flooring, building products and architecture markets.
Daniel Geiger Campos, Global Director of the Decorative Paints business and member of the executive committee, links this approach to the group's annual research, presented as aligned with the evolution of trends and designed to provide solutions tailored to each market.
The Global Aesthetic Center relies on its ColourFutures trend forecasting meeting, which brings together internal experts, architects, designers and journalists.
