Alten share stumbles at its 85.20 € resistance level and declines 2%
The engineering consulting specialist is losing momentum on Tuesday, following a quarter of strong growth. The stock touched a session high before retreating, in a declining Paris market and just days ahead of anticipated publications.
A resistance level breached then lost during the session
The Alten share declines 2.23% to 83.30 €, after exceeding its resistance of 85.20 € up to a high of 85.70 €. The stock fell back below this level before midday, erasing the breakout. It remains well above its moving averages: the 20-day MA (79.53 €) is 4.74% below the price, the 50-day MA (75.55 €) is 10.26% below the price.
The RSI at 68.56 signals a configuration close to overbought, after a gain of 26% over one month. Alten ranks 108th in the SBF 120 out of 120, an index declining 0.72%. The rise of nearly 54% in three months had nevertheless driven the stock to unprecedented levels since the beginning of the year.
Two activity publications expected in the coming days
The group publishes its activity for the first nine months of 2026 on October 21, then its third quarter revenue on October 27. These dates follow a first half marked by a return to organic growth, with increased margins and free cash flow, as indicated by the accounts published on September 25. On the rates market, the yield on 10-year OATs stands at 4.85% according to the latest Bank of France data (October 19), in a context of tension on French debt.
The group has also repurchased 53 million euros of its own shares over twelve months, representing 1.8% of its market capitalization. The next date to note is October 21, with the nine-month activity update.
