Alten shares lag in SBF 120, but still up 51.5% over three months
The engineering consulting specialist is losing ground in mid-session trading, in a declining Paris market. This pullback comes after a quarter of strong growth that has placed the stock far from its technical reference levels, just days before an expected publication.
A day's decline that leaves the stock well established above its moving averages
Alten is down 2.11% at €85.75 in session trading, while the CAC 40 loses 0.8% and the SBF 120 falls 0.72%. The stock ranks among the lowest in the broader index, significantly lagging the overall movement. It remains, however, 4.28% above its 20-day moving average (€82.23) and 12.06% above its 50-day moving average (€76.52), a sign that today's decline does not call into question the momentum of recent months.
The share price gained 51.77% over three months and 20.69% over one month. Against a backdrop of tension on French debt, the 10-year OAT stands at 5.13% according to the Bank of France's October 22 report, its highest level since 2004.
Resistance at €87.60 remains close ahead of October 27 publication
Today's pullback is occurring just below the €87.60 resistance threshold, which the price had approached earlier in the week, as indicated by the resistance blocking on October 20. The RSI at 64 remains below extreme zones, leaving room for upside as well as downside without a characterized overbought signal. On the fundamentals side, the group had returned to organic growth in the first half, with margins and free cash-flow increasing.
Share buybacks represent €53 million over twelve months, or 1.8% of market capitalization. The next meeting is scheduled for October 27, with the publication of third-quarter 2026 revenue.
