Appointment: Mikael Frenkian, General Manager of Infra Red Solutions at Umicore, to Head Baikowski on June 1, 2026
Baikowski announced on Thursday the appointment of Mikael Frenkian as the general manager of the specialized industrial minerals group, with his role commencing on June 1, 2026.
An Industry Professional with 25 Years of Experience
Mikael Frenkian, aged 51, holds an engineering degree from Supélec and an MBA from HEC. He has over 25 years of experience in leading technological and industrial groups. Since 2021, he has served as the General Manager of the Infra Red Solutions division at Umicore, where he oversaw the development of optical solutions and infrared filters.
Previously, Mikael Frenkian held several senior management positions at Imerys, including four years as Industrial Director for China, managing three production sites and contributing to profitability and market share improvement. He also served as a Business Unit Director, supporting growth through innovation and business development. Before Imerys, he worked at Kerneos as Head of Operational Strategies across multiple international sites, and began his career at Holcim Group (formerly LafargeHolcim) in process engineering, industrial improvement, and site management roles.
