ArcelorMittal confirmed on August 17, 2026 that its Ukrainian operation, ArcelorMittal Kryvih Rih, had suffered a missile strike over the weekend. Thirteen employees of the group and subcontracting companies were injured and two people died: a member of personnel and an employee of a subcontracting organization.
According to the group, the affected individuals are receiving all necessary medical care in the city's health facilities. The plant was operating at the time of the attack.

Following the attack, the main power generation and blast furnace production facilities were damaged, and production processes at the site were partially halted. The group states it is focusing its attention on the families and relatives of affected employees.
