Atos Group share falls 4% over one year to -51.7%, despite a reassuring Q3
The IT services group retreats sharply during the session, following a quarterly publication that had driven the stock higher. The move is part of a Paris market oriented downward, and two brokerage firms adjusted their opinion on Thursday.
A decline that brings the price back to its 50-day average
The Atos Group share fell 3.92% to €24.98, compared to €26 at the previous close. The SBF 120 declined 1.42% at the same time, and the stock ranks among the strongest declines in the index. This decline erases part of the previous day's rebound, when the price had broken through its resistance at €25.76, following a third quarter deemed reassuring. The price thus returns to contact with the 50-day MA at €24.92, after a rise of 13.55% over seven days. The MACD histogram remains positive at 0.55, but the two MACD lines (Line and Signal) remain negative, a sign of fragile short-term momentum.
Net short positions are higher than a month ago. According to filed declarations, four funds cumulate 3.78% of capital, against 3% thirty days ago, representing a gain of 0.78 percentage points. Such a level shows that institutional investors remain positioned downward, without allowing us to deduce their motivations. This is a point to monitor, to be handled with caution.
Q3 figures published on October 21 and two contrasting analyst opinions
Third quarter revenue reached €1,642 million, with organic decline of 2.4%, against -11% in the first quarter and -5.8% in the second. Atos also generated cash for the first time since the Genesis plan, with a net variation of approximately €44 million, and confirmed its three annual targets. Over one year, the stock remains down 51.72%. On the analyst opinion side, Invest Securities lowered its target from €58 to €50, with a buy rating, leaving an upside potential of approximately 100% compared to the current price.
Bernstein, in contrast, raised its target from €35 to €36, but with an underperformance rating. The gap between the two targets is €14. The group's next publications have no confirmed date in our data, and the support at €20.38 remains the technical level furthest from the current price.
