Atos selected by the city of Barcelona to modernize its digital services

A project focused on the digital experience of municipal employees

Atos has been selected by the Municipal Institute for Innovation and Technology, responsible for the digital transformation of Barcelona's city hall, to collaborate on the evolution of technological services used daily by municipal employees.

Announced on September 8, 2026 from Barcelona and Paris, the project aims to evolve the service toward a more agile, accessible and efficient model, by accelerating the resolution of technological needs and facilitating access to digital services.

Automation, self-service and artificial intelligence

The initiative provides for the evolution of customer service and technological support services through new capabilities designed to simplify processes and reduce response times.

Among the envisaged improvements are self-service mechanisms for certain common procedures, new on-site service spaces, incident resolution support tools and data analysis systems.

The project also integrates the automation of repetitive tasks, advanced knowledge management and the use of generative artificial intelligence technologies to strengthen the access to knowledge for support teams.

Statement from project managers

Emili Rubió, head of the Municipal Institute for Innovation and Technology, stated that this project represents "another step in our commitment to evolving toward a more agile, closer and more efficient support model".

Juan Carlos Díaz, Atos director in Catalonia, in turn mentioned a project "that will contribute to advancing the digital experience of thousands of municipal professionals by combining innovation, automation and artificial intelligence".
