Basic-Fit: Revenue Up 18% Over Nine Months, Targets Confirmed
Basic-Fit achieved revenue of €1,217 million over the first nine months of 2026, up 18%, and reiterated all of its annual targets. The fitness center operator has already achieved its target of approximately 50 net new club openings under the Basic-Fit brand for the full fiscal year.
The most striking aspect of this activity update lies in the gap between two growth rates. The number of memberships in company-owned clubs grew 15% year-over-year, while the portfolio of these same clubs increased by 9%. The average number of members per company-owned Basic-Fit club thus rose from 2,902 at the beginning of the year to 3,035 at the end of September, an indicator that management views as approaching its medium-term target of 3,200 members per club.
Revenue of €1,217 Million Over Nine Months, Up 18%
Over the first nine months of 2026, the group's revenue stood at €1,217 million, compared to €1,034 million a year earlier. The group attributes this growth to an increase in membership numbers and higher average revenue per member. As a reminder, the full 2025 fiscal year resulted in revenue of €1,420.5 million, according to annual results published on April 7, 2026.
Club revenues, which constitute the bulk of activity, grew 16.3% to €1,188 million (versus €1,022 million). Average monthly revenue per member in company-owned Basic-Fit clubs increased 1.4% to €25.64, compared to €25.28 a year earlier. Quarter-over-quarter, it remained stable despite seasonal influx of new members in September, and the group indicates it expects this trend to continue.
Franchise revenues reached €16.5 million. They stem from the Clever Fit network, whose acquisition was finalized in November 2025. Other revenues (online store and NXT Level nutritional products sold to distributors) declined 1.5% to €11.9 million.
More Than 6.25 Million Memberships and Accelerated Expansion in Germany
At the end of September, company-owned clubs had 5.42 million memberships, or 690,000 more than a year earlier. Added to this are 0.83 million memberships in franchised clubs, for a total of more than 6.25 million. The total network reached 2,246 clubs, up 95 since the end of 2025, of which 1,809 are company-owned (156 more over a year) and 437 are franchised.
By country, the company-owned portfolio has grown since the beginning of the year by 16 clubs in Spain (246), 7 in France (901), 6 in Belgium (242) and 4 in the Netherlands (250). According to Chief Executive Officer René Moos, the increase in average membership per club was driven particularly by France and Spain. The average membership duration should moreover exceed 24 months this year, according to the group.
Germany accounts for the bulk of expansion: 127 company-owned clubs at the end of September, compared to 43 a year earlier, driven by the integration of Clever Fit, the 41 Wellyou clubs acquired in July 2026 and the Kraftwerk clubs. The 49 Wellyou and Kraftwerk clubs are to reopen under the Basic-Fit brand in early 2027, a step toward the critical mass of 200 clubs targeted in the country.
In Austria, the 33 company-owned Clever Fit clubs as well as the 18 Speedfit clubs, once the transaction is completed, are to be converted next summer, bringing 51 clubs in total.
2026 Guidance Reiterated Following Two Raises of EBITDA Target
The group has confirmed its target of revenue between €1.64 and €1.69 billion in 2026, a range that encompasses the average of €1.67 billion expected by analysts prior to publication. It anticipates a marked improvement in its positive free cash flow, which totaled €26.1 million in 2025, and a leverage ratio of just over 2.0 times.
Basic-Fit justifies these prospects through reduced organic expansion investments and improved club profitability. The launch of a franchise offer under the Basic-Fit brand is planned before year-end, with the group presenting franchising as a pillar of medium-term growth with low capital intensity. Its financial flexibility should also enable it to pursue targeted acquisitions in a consolidating European fitness market.
The underlying EBITDA target after rent, raised twice this year, is maintained between €430 million and €460 million, versus an initial range of €405 million to €445 million, representing a €20 million increase at the midpoint.
