Beneteau Targets a 30% Reduction in CO₂ by 2030 and Launches the E-Lektra Marine Alliance
On Tuesday, the Beneteau Group released its 2025 activity report, detailing industrial responses to the transformation of the nautical sector: electrification of propulsion systems, substitution of fossil materials, and development of new usage models, with a goal of reducing its CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030.
Electrification: An Alliance to Structure the Market
The manufacturer is accelerating the deployment of electric propulsion systems. In 2025, it offered 13 alternative models, up from 10 in 2024. To industrialize this transition across the sector, Beneteau has created E-LEKTRA MARINE, an equal partnership with Fountaine Pajot Group. This structure brings together seven brands representing nearly 60% of the global sailing market and aims to develop an open standard for electric propulsion and smart energy management on board. The stated goal is to achieve 10 to 15% adoption of electric solutions in the global sailing market by 2030, representing several hundred boats per year. By pooling volumes and expertise, the two groups intend to accelerate the industrialization, deployment, and maintenance of these solutions.
Materials: Recycling Loop and Bio-based Resins
In the composites segment, Beneteau is simultaneously addressing the composition of materials and their end of life. In 2025, its sites produced 4,400 parts from hemp fibers sourced from a Vendée-based industry, combined with a resin incorporating 35% bio-based materials. This approach has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 24% for these parts and their fossil resource consumption by 35%, avoiding 11 tonnes of CO₂. The group continues to deploy Elium recyclable resin, with 12.6 tonnes used and 14 tonnes of recycled or natural fibers in 2025. In April 2026, the Excess brand introduced the Excess 11, the first multihull made with recyclable Elium resin, marking the transition from experimentation to series production. To organize large-scale recycling, Beneteau has formed an industrial alliance with Arkema, Composite Recycling, Owens Corning, Chomarat, and Veolia, aiming to create a complete loop of collection, separation, and reuse of materials.
Services: Broadening Access to Navigation
Beyond new boats, Beneteau is expanding access to navigation through rental and service models. In 2025, 110 self-service boats were available to 1,010 subscribers via Wiziboat, representing about one boat for every nine users. The group also equipped nearly 15,000 boats with Seanapps, its connected platform, showing a 50% increase over one year. The group's refit program aims to renovate 30 to 40 units per year, bolstered by the acquisition of BMS Shipyard in Canet-en-Roussillon.
