bioMérieux Shares Bounce Near 50-Day Moving Average After Over 40% Yearly Decline
bioMérieux shares are making a comeback in today's session, in a rising Parisian market. The Lyon-based stock, weakened by a decline of more than 40% over the year, attempts to regain its footing on its short-term moving averages after a challenging quarter.
A Rebound Bringing the Stock Back to its 50-Day Moving Average
bioMérieux shares are up 1.87% at €70.85, up from €69.55 the previous day. The stock has moved above its 20-day moving average (€68.96) and is exactly at its 50-day moving average (€70.81), a level that has become resistance after several sessions of weakness. The RSI at 49 indicates a current balance between buyers and sellers, without a clear directional signal. The medium-term outlook remains weakened: the price is more than 25% below its 200-day moving average at €94.77, a gap reflecting the significant drop since the start of the year. Over three months, the decline reaches 24.35%, and the yearly drop is over 40%. Today's rebound allows the Lyon-based group to approach its identified resistance at €74.35, while support at €66.60 frames the lower part of the recent channel.
Women's Health Diagnostics and Food Safety: Two Recent Launches to Expand the Range
In terms of business activity, the group has multiplied product initiatives in recent weeks. At the end of June, bioMérieux submitted a 510(k) authorization request to the FDA for its Biofire Spotfire Vaginitis Panel, a molecular diagnostic test capable of identifying the causes of vaginitis in twenty minutes. This move marks the Lyon-based diagnostician's entry into women's and sexual health. A few days earlier, in mid-June, the company launched GENE-UP TYPER SLM, a PCR test targeting Salmonella in the agri-food sector, complementing the range launched at the beginning of 2025. These announcements are part of the strategy to broaden the molecular portfolio. The stock's behavior around its 50-day moving average will be the first indicator to follow to assess the strength of the ongoing rebound.
