Biotalys appoints two independent female directors from crop protection sector
The Belgian biocontrol group has strengthened its board of directors with two independent female directors from the crop protection sector. Following these appointments, the board will comprise seven members.
Two profiles from the crop protection sector join the board
Biotalys (Euronext Brussels: BTLS) announced on September 28, 2026 the appointment of Christine Berwaerts and Ioana Tudor to its board of directors as independent directors. Christine Berwaerts will also chair the audit committee.
Christine Berwaerts has notably served as Chief Financial Officer of Globachem, a crop protection player, after being Chief Financial Officer of Belchim Crop Protection Group. She also sits on the board of De Lijn and the SAAMO Brussels organization.
Ioana Tudor is Global Head of Crop Protection Marketing, Professional Solutions at Syngenta Crop Protection, where she has worked for nearly thirty years and has held several management positions. She is also a member of Syngenta's Crop Protection Leadership Team and chairs the Crop Protection Strategy Council of CropLife International.

Effective September 1, 2026, Christine Berwaerts replaces Laura Meyer, who resigned from the board in March 2026. Effective September 28, 2026, Ioana Tudor replaces Patrick Van Beneden, who left the board in June 2026.
Both appointments were made in accordance with Article 7:88 § 1 of the Belgian Code of Companies and Associations and Article 13 of the company's bylaws. They will be proposed for confirmation at the next general assembly, where both directors will be presented as independent.
Following these appointments, the board will comprise seven directors, including three women and four men.
